Liz Rose, Victoria Shaw, David Bellamy and More Earn Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame Inductions

The Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame revealed its 2024 class of inductees this week, and hit writers for Garth Brooks and Taylor Swift are among them.

David Bellamy (The Bellamy Brothers), Al Anderson, Liz Rose, Dan Penn, and Victoria Shaw will officially join the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in November. Brad Paisley won induction into NaSHOF in the contemporary songwriter/artist category. However, Paisley has a scheduling conflict and can’t attend this year’s ceremony. The Hall of Fame will induct him as part of its 2025 class.

Bellamy, Anderson, Rose Penn, and Shaw will be inducted at the 54th Anniversary Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame Gala on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at Music City Center in Nashville.

“Still in shock, but extremely humbled and honored,” Shaw wrote on social media.

Penn and Shaw will be inducted in the veteran category. Penn wrote his first hit song in high school, “Is A Bluebird Blue” by Conway Twitty.

Anderson and Rose were elected in the contemporary songwriter category. Anderson is known for writing songs including “Trip Around The Sun” by Jimmy Buffett and Martina McBride, “Unbelievable” by Diamond Rio, and Tim McGraw’s “The Cowboy In Me.”  Liz Rose is the pen behind more than one dozen of Taylor Swift’s earliest hits including, “You Belong with Me,” “Teardrops on My Guitar” and “White Horse” along with Eli Young Band’s “Crazy Girl” and Little Big Town’s “Girl Crush.”

Bellamy wrote many of his duo’s hits, including “If I Said You Have A Beautiful Body (Would You Hold It Against Me),” “Old Hippie” and “Crazy From The Heart.”

“To this stellar group of songwriters, we say thank you for your songs and for your artistry,” said Rich Hallworth, chair of the organization’s board of directors, at a luncheon at Columbia Studio A, part of Belmont University’s Mike Curb College of Entertainment and Music Business. “You are exceptional talents, and we will proudly honor you this fall, when you officially join your legendary peers in the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.”
