Lzzy Hale Sparks Linkin Park Vocalist Rumors With “Crawling” Cover

Back in 2017, Linkin Park celebrated the release of their new album One More Light with fans. Marking their seventh studio album, the band added to their growing success which landed them over 100 million record sales. Gaining praise from the music industry and fans, the band appeared to reach legendary status thanks to songs like “In the End” and “Breaking the Habit.” But while on top of the music industry, tragedy struck when singer Chester Bennington took his own life. Over seven years after his passing, rumors suggested the band looked to get back together with a female as the lead singer. And with Lzzy Hale recently covering “Crawling”, the rumors might be true.

There has been no concrete evidence to show Linkin Park looked to return to the stage with a female as the vocalist. But that didn’t stop Hale from covering the hit song. Gaining nearly 40,000 likes, fans loved her cover and even discussed the idea of her taking over for Bennington. “My prediction being lzzy is fronting linkin park like she did with skid row just gotta put it out there.” Another person added, “When I saw her and Amy covering Chester on that tour I remember thinking how it would make a lot of sense to have Lzzy be the next phase.”

Lzzy Hale Shared Heartfelt Message About Chester Bennington

While Linkin Park remained silent for several years, the rumors surrounding the group started when Orgy frontman Jay Gordon heard the group was searching for a female lead. “It’s going to be tough without Chester [Bennington], but we’ll see. I hear they got a girl singer now. That’s what I heard.” When asked to expand on his comment, he said, “Don’t quote me on that. I’m not sure who the singer is going to be, but I heard it was gonna be female. They might just try to move on like that. That ought to be interesting.”

With fans only speculating as to what the future holds for Linkin Park, Hale has been a massive fan of the group for some time. Back when Bennington passed away, she took a moment to honor his legacy. “Chester, we loved you, you will be missed, and I’m so sorry you felt you had to leave this way. But all of the men and women you healed with your music, you reminded us we are not alone. Your music and message will live on. Thank you for your time, Chester we love you.”
