Miranda Lambert Will Receive Country Icon Award, Prepares to Release New Album
Miranda Lambert is also gearing up to release a new album on September 13. Postcards From Texas comes two years after her hit 2022 album Palomino, which earned her a GRAMMY nomination for Album of the Year.
This new album features the new songs “Wranglers,” “Alimony,” and “Damnit Randy,” which have gained traction with fans. Recently, she shared a vulnerable ballad titled “No Man’s Land,” along with a lyric video.
Writing with frequent collaborator Luke Dick, Lambert has gone in a different direction from her previous three singles. “Wranglers,” “Damnit Randy,” and “Alimony” have all had her signature flair for vengeance after a breakup. “No Man’s Land,” however, is a reflective and vulnerable love song, and Lambert called it “one of my favorite songs I’ve maybe ever written.”
Speaking about the song in a press release, she continued, “When Luke sent me the initial idea, the lyrics just struck me—they were so beautiful, so raw. It felt like, ‘This is how I can explain it to the man who’s willing to love a girl like me—a free spirit, a wildflower, a wild card but with a big heart and all the love to give.’”
Lambert added, “It’s that sentiment of ‘love her but leave her wild,’ and it’s not really a warning; it’s just a ‘let me tell you what you’re getting into, and if you want to jump off and take this ride with me, then let’s go.’”
