While Morgan Wallen recently made headlines for his time on Saturday Night Live, the country singer remained focused on his upcoming album I’m the Problem. Besides releasing his last album, One Thing at a Time, back in 2023, the singer also hit the road with his One Night at a Time World Tour with Ernest, Hardy, and even Bailey Zimmerman. And outside of his own discography, he collaborated with Post Malone on the hit song “I Had Some Help.” And apparently, the song almost went to Wallen.

In an interview shared on Instagram, Wallen opened up about working with Malone on the No.1 hit song. He explained, “This was written during the time when Post was working on his album. I’ve always loved this song, and I told him, ‘Hey, if you don’t put this on your album, then I’m gonna put it on mine.’ And ‘I Had Some Help’ just seemed like a more obvious, straight down the middle, ‘this song is a hit’ type song, so he ended up putting it on his record.”

The One Song Morgan Wallen Decided To Keep
With Wallen wanting the song, it appears that it fit exactly what Malone was looking for in his debut country album. While thrilled over the success of the album and Malone, Wallen didn’t leave empty handed as he decided to keep “I Ain’t Coming Back.”
While excited about his upcoming album, set to release on May 16th, Wallen said, “I love what it says, there’s a lot of cool imagery.”
With the album featuring 37 songs, Wallen called in a little help as he collaborated with Ernest, Hardy, Tate McRae, Eric Church, and even Malone. Offering a snippet of what fans should expect, he added, “A lot of the concepts and things we said were a little more difficult with this album. We were trying to dig deep on things and trying to find new angles. And I feel like we did that. I feel like there’s a lot of stuff that I haven’t said in this record, which I’m really, really proud of.”
Fans shared their excitement over the new album and collaboration. When releasing “I Ain’t Coming Back”, one fan wrote, “Absolutely unstoppable just when I think there’s no way he can top that song he throws out five more definitely a legend in his own time. I’m just glad I was here to enjoy it. Love me some Morgan Wallen.” Another person added, “He just never ever misses. Then add Post and the combination is epic. Explosive, don’t put out that fire.”
