Snoop Dogg Honors Wife At The 2025 BET Awards

Looking at the lineup for the upcoming biopic, the film will be helmed by director Craig Brewer, who worked on Hustle & Flow and Coming 2 America. The film will tell the story of Snoop as he navigated the world of hip hop during the 1990s to become a legend in the West Coast. Besides being the center of the film, Snoop will also be a producer, making sure his story gets told the right way.

Outside of Hollywood, Snoop recently accepted the Ultimate Icon Honor at the 2025 BET Awards. Although leaving his mark in the music industry, the rapper couldn’t help but shine a light on his wife, Shante Taylor. During his speech, Snoop insisted, “See, this is why I’m so rock solid. This is why I’m able to deal with all of the things I’m able to deal with. I’ve got God in my life, and I’ve got a queen in my life.”

Seeing Taylor as his guiding light, Snoop made sure she stood right alongside him. Taking on the world as a team, he concluded, “No matter what, she held me down, she hold me down, she’s always been there for me. She’s always been my everything. That’s why she’s on stage tonight. That’s why she’s in my life.”
