Rush will release a six-LP vinyl box set on November 1 featuring reissues of the first four studio albums the Canadian prog-rock trio recorded for Atlantic Records. Rush – The Albums: 1989-1996 includes vinyl editions of Presto (1989), Roll the Bones (1991), Counterparts (1993), and Test for Echo (1996).

Each album boasts a print reimagined cover art, and the discs are housed in a slipcase that features new artwork created by Hugh Syme. Syme is responsible for the cover art of every Rush album since 1975.
The Counterparts and Test for Echo reissues both are two-LP sets featuring music on three sides and an etching on the fourth and final side.
The Albums: 1989-1996 box set is priced at $159.99, and can be pre-ordered now at RushBackstage.com. The collection is expected to ship on November 11.
About Presto
Presto, Rush’s 13th studio album, was released in November 1989. The album peaked at No. 15 on the Billboard 200. It featured the singles “Show Don’t Tell” and “The Pass,” which peaked at No. 1 and No. 15, respectively, on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock chart.
Presto was certified gold by the RIAA for sales of more than 500,000 copies in the U.S.
About Roll the Bones
Roll the Bones, Presto’s follow-up, was released in September 1991. The album was more successful than its predecessor, peaking at No. 3 on the Billboard 200. Roll the Bones scored two Top-10 singles on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart—the title track and “Ghost of a Chance,” which peaked at No. 9 and No. 2, respectively.
The album was certified platinum by the RIAA for sales of more than 1 million in the States.
About Counterparts
Counterparts was released in October 1993. Peaking at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, it became Rush’s highest-charting album in the U.S. The band’s final studio effort, Clockwork Angels (2012), also reached No. 2 on the tally.
Counterparts featured the single, “Nobody’s Hero,” which reached No. 9 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock chart. The album was certified gold by the RIAA.
About Test for Echo
Test for Echo, Rush’s 16th studio effort, was released in September 1996. The album reached No. 5 on the Billboard 200, while the title track topped the Mainstream Rock tally.
Test for Echo was certified gold by the RIAA.
Recent Rush News
Rush retired in 2015 after the end of the band’s R40 40th anniversary tour. Sadly, drummer Neil Peart died of brain cancer in January 2020 at age 67. In recent years, frontman Geddy Lee and guitarist Alex Lifeson have reunited to perform at a number of special concerts. Most recently, they joined Canadian band Blue Rodeo to perform a song at a May 23, 2024, tribute concert a for the late Gordon Lightfoot in Toronto.
