Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds put on quite an emotional show at O2 in London on Saturday, but that didn’t stop Cave from taking a playful jab at touring bassist Colin Greenwood. For reference, Greenwood is also a member of the famed rock band Radiohead.
The show took place at O2 in London, quite a few weeks into The Bad Seeds’ European tour in promotion of their long-awaited album Wild God. During the second-night show, Cave decided to poke fun at Greenwood, who is currently filling in for longtime bassist Martyn Casey as he battles an unspecified illness.

During the show, Cave identified a fan in the front row of the concert, who was wearing what Cave called “a hideous” Radiohead sweatshirt.
“What’s worse is you have a Björk t-shirt on underneath,” Cave gently bullied the fan.
The rest of The Bad Seeds had a good cackle at that. Cave then corrected himself after pointing out Greenwood on stage.
“We love them both,” said Cave. “Isn’t that right Colin? We stole Colin.”
The light jabbing was all in good fun. In fact, Greenwood has performed previously with Cave during the latter’s solo tours. Greenwood has also contributed elements to The Bad Seeds’ newest album as well.
Later on in the show, during a performance of the band’s iconic song “Red Right Hand”, Cave jokingly altered the lyrics a bit. He pointed to the Radiohead fan in the audience again and sang, “You want another sh***y T-shirt? He’ll get you one.”

Light fan-bullying aside, it seemed like Nick Cave, Colin Greenwood, and the rest of the band were in very high spirits during their second night at the O2. As always, they put on a well-curated set of old and new works. Their performance of “Wild God” was particularly invigorating, as were their renditions of “Push The Sky Away”, “Jubilee Street”, and “White Elephant”.
The band also performed “Carnage” and “O Wow O Wow (How Wonderful She Is)” as a dedication to their late bandmate, Anita Lane. Lane passed away in 2021. The set got even more emotional with Cave’s damp-eyed performance of “I Need You” and “Into My Arms”.
