Pre-sale tickets will be available starting Wednesday, February 12, at 10 a.m. ET. To purchase pre-sale tickets, fans must register in advance at TheBrothersMSG.com. The Brothers feature the following former Allman Brothers members: drummer Jaimoe, singer/guitarist Warren Haynes, slide guitarist Derek Trucks, bassist Oteil Burbridge, and percussionist Marc Quiñones. Jaimoe is the last surviving founding member of the group.
Augmenting the band’s lineup are drummers Joe Russo and Isaac Eady, and keyboardist Reese Wynans. Chuck Leavell, who played piano with The Allman Brothers Band from 1972 to 1976, will be a special guest at the concerts. Wynans and Leavell also both took part on The Brothers’ 2020 show. Reese is a former member of the late Stevie Ray Vaughan’s backing group, Double Trouble, while Leavell has been The Rolling Stones’ main touring keyboardist since 1982.
“The chance to play at The Garden with my friends again—FAR OUT man!” Jaimoe said in a statement. “I’ll see you in April!!”
More About the Upcoming Shows
According to a press statement, the catalyst for the new Brothers shows came from the Soulshine benefit concert, which was held in November 2024 at Madison Square Garden to raise money for those affected by the hurricanes that devastated the Southern U.S.
At the charity event, Haynes and Trucks teamed up for a performance of the Allman Brothers classic “Whipping Post.” After enjoying playing together at Soulshine, Warren and Derek were inspired to organize new concerts at the venue with their former bandmates.
The band has put together a new set for the upcoming concerts that will differ from the one played in 2020. The show will feature Allman Brothers Band classics and rarities, as well as tunes that showcase the group’s legacy and continuing influence.
More About the 2020 Concert and the Final Allman Brothers Show
The Brothers’ 2020 concert also featured drummer Duane Trucks, son of late original Allman Brothers Band drummer Butch Trucks. Duane has played drums with Widespread Panic since 2014.
The 2020 Madison Square Garden show was released on CD, DVD, and Blu-ray in 2021.
The Allman Brothers Band’s final concert took place on October 28, 2014, at the beacon Theatre in New York City. Since then, Butch Trucks died by suicide in January 2017, and frontman Gregg Allman passed away from cancer in May of that same year.
Upcoming Dickey Betts Tribute Concert
Jaimoe, Haynes, Derek Trucks, Burbridge, and Leavell also are among the many musicians slated to perform at an upcoming tribute concert for late founding Allman Brothers singer/guitarist Dickey Betts. The show, dubbed “In Memory of Dickey Betts,” will be held on February 28 at the Macon City Auditorium in Macon, Georgia.
The star-studded event was organized by Dickey’s son, Duane Betts. Part of the proceeds from the concert will go toward the new “Dickey Betts Scholarship at Berklee College of Music.”
Betts, who played with The Allman Brothers Band from 1969 to 2000, died in April 2024 at age 80.
