Taylor Swift has reached the end of an “Era.” The “Fortnight” star wrapped up her billion-dollar, record-shattering, nearly two-year “Eras” Tour on Dec. 8 in Vancouver, British Columbia. Now speculation has shifted to Swift’s post-tour plans. Several outlets have reported that the 14-time Grammy winner is looking forward to some relaxation and downtime. But now, it seems we have the real answer. Swift’s longtime bestie, Selena Gomez, is engaged, and the “Anti-Hero” singer has a role to play.

Gomez began dating songwriter and record producer Benny Blanco in June 2023. The “Lose You to Love Me” singer announced the couple’s engagement Wednesday (Dec. 11) on social media.
“forever begins now,” Gomez captioned the post, which included a close-up shot of the ring Blanco gave her.
The post spurred thousands of comments from well-wishers—and the answer to a burning question from Taylor Swift, Gomez’s BFF. “yes I will be the flower girl,” wrote the “Cruel Summer” hitmaker.

Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez have been friends for years, so it makes sense that Swift would be part of her special day. Now we know what the “All Too Well” singer is doing post-“Eras” Tour. Girl’s got a wedding to plan.
A Look at Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez’s Friendship
Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez were just teenagers when they met back in 2008. In true early-aughts pop-star fashion, they were each romantically involved with a Jonas Brother at the time. Swift dated Joe Jonas for about three months, while Gomez was seeing younger brother Nick.
“It was the best thing we got out of those relationships,” Gomez joked in a 2017 interview. She added, “[Taylor] was the girl with the big curly hair and all the bracelets and the cowboy boots. And I was definitely up-and-coming, and we just clicked.”
Both Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez opened up about their friendship in a January 2020 interview with the Wall Street Journal. The Only Murders in the Building star said that Swift “has showed up for me in ways that I would have never expected.”
Swift added, “There has always been this quality of sisterhood, and I don’t say that in a basic way. I knew from when I met her, I would always have her back.
“In my life, I have the ability to forgive people who have hurt me,” she continued. “But I don’t know if I can forgive someone who hurts her.”
