Teyana Taylor Hired as Creative Director for Lil Baby’s It’s Only Us Tour

On July 26, Lil Baby will officially launch his It’s Only Us nationwide tour, kicking off in Houston, Texas, and consisting of 24 dates. Less than two weeks before the first show, though, Baby brought on one of the music industry’s most talented performers to help choreograph his performances.

Today (July 17), multi-hyphenate star Teyana Taylor announced that she will be the creative director for the It’s Only Us Tour. Explaining that she and her company The Aunties Production will be in charge of music direction, choreography, production, visual content, wardrobe, and stage presence, Taylor asserted that she was the right woman for the job in a new Instagram post.

“Thank you @lilbaby & @qcmceo_p for trusting @theauntiesinc to creative direct & co-produce The #IOU tour! This one will be one for the books fasho!! [You’re definitely] in good hands with one hell of a village [and] I can’t wait for the world to see how much fun we have with this shit!”

Taylor’s news comes just a few days after Baby completely rearranged the dates for his tour, canceling numerous shows in Phoenix, Sacramento, Salt Lake City, and more, while adding two dates in New York and Philadelphia. Additionally, Baby confirmed that while acts like Rylo Rodriguez, GloRilla, Gloss Up, and Hunxho will still be joining him, opener The Kid LAROI has been taken off the bill.

Before It’s Only Us, Taylor worked with fellow rapper Latto, serving as the creative director for her performances such as her career-defining Coachella set earlier this year. Additionally, she has released multiple albums in the past few years as an R&B artist, such as her Kanye West-produced K.T.S.E. LP in 2018 and her The Album project in 2020.

What truly makes her résumé eye-opening, though, is her contributions as an actor and choreographer. At just 15 years of age, she choreographed the music video for Beyoncé’s 2006 song “Ring the Alarm.” Along with that, she earned acting roles in films like Stomp the Yard: Homecoming (2010) and Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Big Happy Family (2011).
