Nickelback released their tenth studio album Get Rollin’ in 2022. It was the Canadian band’s first album in five years. Last year, they released Live from Nashville. Both releases garnered success and praise from fans and critics alike. However, years after their last batch of new music, fans are wondering what is next for the band. Unfortunately, it seems like they aren’t the only ones with questions about the group’s future.

Mike Kroeger on the Future of Nickelback
Bassist Mike Kroeger delivered what some fans might see as bad news when talking about the future of Nickelback. “Although it looks like we’re a poster child for DIY and we know what we’re doing all the time, we don’t know what we’re doing all the time,” he said. “Right now, we are not sure exactly what is next,” he added.
The band is flirting with the idea of putting out new music. However, they’re looking for a way to make their next release more special. “We’re talking about getting in the studio and recording, but we’re trying to come with some kind of a different idea than just write an album, record an album, go on the road, repeat cycle,” he explained. “We’re trying to come with something a little different.”
Kroeger pointed out that the band has already released ten albums. As a result, they don’t feel pressure to put out something new right now. Instead, they would rather “pump the brakes” and put together a plan. “There’s no hurry. We’re gonna do it when it feels right and not before,” he said. “The same thing goes to when we release things. We made a rule a long time ago that we have a choice to release an album on time or an album when it’s ready, and we’ve always chosen to release the album when it’s ready,” He explained. “Rushing something half-hearted or half-baked is not gonna happen with this group.”
