The Voice is building up anticipation for season 27, as they recently posted a comedic clip from the season premiere. Airing tonight, on Monday, February 3, season 27 of The Voice will feature a cast of new characters, as John Legend, Kelsea Ballerini, and Adam Levine are this season’s new judges. However, fan favorite, Michael Bublé, is back in the judge’s seat and he has fans excited thanks to the recent clip.

Posted today, February 3, The Voice teased a taste of what the season 27 premiere will entail. In the video, contestant, Ethan Eckenroad, takes the stage and performs Noah Kahan’s, “Northern Attitude.” The performance resulted in a four-chair tune, so Michael Bublé had to pull out all the stops to persuade Eckenroad to join his team. And how he did so was unexpectedly hilarious.

Following Eckenroad’s performance each judge urged the performer to join their team, and given that Eckenroad is a country performer, Ballerini of course cited her presence in the genre. Although, Bublé had an ace in the hole and seemingly won Eckenroad over. Bublé stated in the clip, “I love country. I can even prove to you how much I love country because there’s a picture I have.”
Following Michael Bublé’s statement, a yearbook photo of Bublé with a mullet appeared on the monitor behind the stage. Bublé added to his case by saying, “I mean, I sported that mullet for most of my life.” Ballerini laughed, Levine smirked, and John Legend uttered, “I told you he was related to Blake [Shelton], I told you.”
Each of the judges tried to win over Eckenroad and shmoozed him with a plethora of superlatives. Levine even stated, “You have an effortless thing that you do that is so soulful and so simple” and “You have my favorite voice that I’ve heard so far this entire blind audition. It would be a tragedy if you weren’t on my team.”
Before Eckenroad selected what team he’d join, the camera of course cut and left the masses with a massive cliffhanger. So, time will tell where Eckenroad goes. To see where Ethan Eckenroad will land, watch The Voice tonight at 7 PM EST.
