The New York City-based singer-songwriter’s blind audition will air on the March 3 episode of The Voice. Until then, fans can get a taste of Avidane’s talents through her Instagram, where she frequently posts covers.
Most recently, she shared her take on The Beatles’ 1965 hit, “Yesterday.” Avidane expertly showed off her vocal chops during the song, putting her powerful vocals, soulful delivery, and emotional performance ability on full display.
The cover is an apt one for the singer, whose Spotify bio notes that she has a “soulful spirit and an eclectic nature, combining retro with current.” Avidane, whose influences include rock, folk, and soul music, dubs her genre “rock ‘n’ soul.”
Previously, Avidane has covered Sinéad O’Connor’s “Nothing Compares 2 U,” Carole King’s “Natural Woman,” and Amy Winehouse’s “Back to Black.”
Sophie Avidane’s Appearance on The Voice
Avidane has been hyping up her appearance on The Voice in recent weeks.
Back in January, she announced her big news writing, “i did a lil thing🤫 i auditioned for the voice‼️word on the street is that it’s going to be an epic season 🙂 you can tune in mondays starting 2/3 on nbc and peacock the following day.”
Then, on the day Avidane’s blind audition is set to air, the show teased her appearance with a clip of her walking onto the stage. Avidane quickly reposted a similar video of the moment, which she captioned with the eyes emoji.
Avidane’s appearance will come on the last episodes of blind auditions, meaning that the coaches’ teams are quickly filling up.
Fans will have to tune into NBC to see if Avidane will manage to land one of the final spots on John Legend, Michael Bublé, Kelsea Ballerini, or Adam Levine’s team. Given her eclectic, genre-bending style, she could be a great fit for any one of the coaches.
The Voice airs Mondays at 8/7c on NBC.
