More About The Who’s 2025 Tour Plans
Prior to the North American trek, The Who will play two previously announced shows in Italy this summer. Those concerts are scheduled for July 20 near Padua and July 22 in Milan.
Frontman Roger Daltrey also has three U.K. dates lined up with his solo band. They’re scheduled for July 30 in Halifax, August 1 in Audley End, and August 8 in Margate.
On Sunday, May 18, Who co-founders Daltrey and Pete Townshend confirmed that the band would be moving forward without its longtime touring drummer Zak Starkey.
“The Who are heading for retirement, whereas Zak is [20 years] younger and has a great future with his new band and other exciting projects,” the duo said in a joint statement. “He needs to devote all his energy into making it all a success. We both wish him all the luck in the world.”
Townshend and Daltrey also confirmed that drummer Scott Devours, who plays in Roger’s solo band, will be replacing Starkey.
Starkey, meanwhile, said in a statement on his own socials that it was not his decision to leave The Who.
The news comes after an initial announcement in mid-April that The Who had decided to part ways with Zak, which was followed by a subsequent statement a few days later that he would be remaining with the band.
