More About the Teenage Cancer Trust Concert Series

The annual concert series at the Royal Albert Hall raises funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust, which funds programs and recreational facilities focused specifically on teenagers and young adults with cancer.

Daltrey is a longtime patron of the charity who began organizing the annual concert series in 2000. The 80-year-old rock legend stepped down from his duties after the 2024 performances.

โ€œWe are delighted that some of the biggest names from across the music, and entertainment industry are performing at this yearโ€™s Teenage Cancer Trust gigs at the Royal Albert Hall,โ€ Teenage Cancer Trust executive Kate Collins said in a statement, according to Rolling Stone UK. โ€œWe couldnโ€™t be more grateful for their commitment to raising vital funds for young people with cancer.โ€

She added, โ€œThese gigs would not exist without Roger, who remains a tireless Honorary Patron for the charity and is unstoppable in his support for young people with cancer.โ€

More About The Whoโ€™s 2025 Performance Plans

Who co-founders Daltrey and Townshend both revealed in interviews in late 2024 that the band were planning to play shows this year.

In a November 2024 interview with the Press Association, Daltrey confirmed that The Who had โ€œa couple of things planned for next year.โ€ The singer also said โ€œthere might be a tour.โ€

Townshend, meanwhile, reported in an interview with U.K. newspaper The Telegraph that same month that the band had โ€œaccepted an offer from Live Nation to do something in Americaโ€ in 2025.

The Whoโ€™s also played two shows during the 2024 Teenage Cancer Trust benefit concert series. Those gigs, which took place on March 18 and March 20, were the bandโ€™s most recent shows to date.

Daltrey also has a dozen concerts scheduled this year in the U.K. with his solo group. The shows span from an April 20 concerts in Brighton, England, through an August 8 performance in Margate, England.

Roger solo band includes several members of The Whoโ€™s touring group. Among them are guitarist Simon Townshend (Peteโ€™s younger brother) and violinist Katy Jacoby.
