Vince Gill and Amy Grant’s Daughter Corinna Starts the New Year with New Single, “Doormat”

Amy Grant and Vince Gill are both incredibly talented singers, songwriters, and musicians. Today, their daughter Corrina Grant Gill—known professionally as Corinna—released a new single showing that the apple didn’t fall far from the tree. Listen to her vulnerable new single “Doormat” below.

“Doormat” is a great start to the year for Corrina but it is not her first outing. She has been steadily building her body of work since releasing her debut track “Swallow the Sun” in 2021. So far, she has released 10 songs and one five-track EP.

While Corinna is the daughter of Grant and Gill, she’s not attempting to ride her parents’ coattails to fame. Instead, the Belmont University graduate is forging her own path in music. “Doormat” is a great example of her singular style and talent.

Last night (December 2), she took to social media to share the inspiration behind the song and the kind of energy she’s carrying into the new year. “Death to 2024 and keeping people in your life who treat you like sh*t and walk all over you because they know you’re a people-pleaser and you’ll take it,” she began. “They’re done. Out with the old, in with the new because we don’t deserve that, at all. There are people who are going to love you well and we’re going to find them in 2025,” she added.

Corrina and Vince Gill Paid Tribute to Amy Grant at the Ryman

Corrina joined Amy Grant and Vince Gill at one of their Christmas at the Ryman residency shows last year. She took the stage to perform Gill’s “When My Amy Prays” with a special twist. She changed the lyric in the song’s chorus to “When my mama prays” to create a touching tribute to her mother.

Gill wrote the song and released it on his 2019 album Okie. He didn’t release the song as a single but that didn’t stop it from bringing him a Grammy Award for Best Country Solo Performance in 2021. However, it is much more than an award-winning song. First and foremost, it is a beautiful and touching tribute to his wife and her faith. Watch Corrina perform her rendition of the song below.
