Sisters Eleanor, Lily, and Powell Balkcom make up neotraditional country music trio The Castellows. Gaining traction in 2022 by posting cover performances to social media, the Georgia siblings signed a record deal in 2023. They released their first EP, A Little Goes a Long Way, last February, and will soon drop a follow-up, Alabama Stone. Over the weekend, the sisters gave a spectacular home-state performance ahead of the Atlanta Falcons-Carolina Panthers NFL matchup.

The Castellows Deliver Haunting Version of “The Star-Spangled Banner”
Sunday (Jan. 5) marked The Castellows’ first-ever national anthem performance at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. It was a fitting venue for three women hailing from Quitman County, Georgia.
Repping their home state with Atlanta Falcons jerseys, Eleanor, Lily and Powell Balkcom blended their voices seamlessly as they performed “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

Their angelic harmonies had some viewers a tad misty-eyed, with one X/Twitter user writing, “I think I have something in my eye.” And they weren’t alone, either. As the sisters performed, cameras panned to Panthers defensive lineman A’Shawn Robinson as tears streamed down his face.

Country Star Apologizes for Hilarious Typo: “I’m Too Broke To Fix It”
Eager to share a career milestone, The Castellows posted a video of their stunning national anthem performance to social media Sunday (Jan. 5.) Amid the glowing reviews, some social media users pointed out an unfortunate typo.
“Us sang the national anthem today at the falcons game!” the post read. “So proud to honor our country in this way!”
Clearly, they meant to write “We” as the first word. Acoustic guitarist Eleanor Balkcom acknowledged the error in a reply on X/Twitter.
“I had a different caption written up and forgot to change,” she wrote. “but you can only edit X captions if you pay for premium and I’m too broke for that.”

I very much see the Us in stead of We in this post. I had a different caption written up and forgot to change 🤦♀️but you can only edit X captions if you pay for premium and I’m too broke for that👍🏻 apologies
Fortunately, everyone took it in stride, with one user replying, “Us like very much you’s singing of the National Anthem. Amazing job.”
