The Eagles have been taking Las Vegas by storm with their residency in the psychedelic Sphere. Since beginning their residency in September of 2024, the band’s shows at the Sphere have been in high demand. And it’s no surprise, as the Eagles’ music and brand pair perfectly with the infinite entertainment resources the Sphere entails. So between Vince Gill, Joe Walsh, Don Henley the rest of the band, and the Sphere, the residency has been a match made in heaven.

Since their residency debut in September, the group has been playing incessantly. In totality, the residency will end on March 15, 2025, and when it is all said and done, the Eagles will have performed 28 shows over 14 weekends. Given the sheer amount of performing the residency entails, it will be broken up into two halves. Matter of fact, the first half just ended this weekend on December 14.
The Eagles Final Show Before The Holiday Break
This Saturday, December 14, marked the finale of the first half of the Eagles’ residency. That being so, the band went out with a bang and stunned audience members in attendance. The Eagles played several of their greatest hits including “Hotel California,” “One of These Nights,” “Lyin’ Eyes,” and “Take It To The Limit.”
Outside of the somewhat predictable setlist were the spellbinding and mind-tripping visuals the Sphere paired with the songs. Frankly, the amount of surreal detail embedded in the visuals is far too much to explain, and if we tried it would do them a grave disservice.
The show was not all dedicated to the Eagles, as the band actually acknowledged the holiday season by singing “Please Come Home For Christmas.” In all, the show seemed rather routine. However, given the context surrounding it, it seems the Eagles’ gave it a little extra something.
The Eagles will return to the Sphere for the second half of their residency on January 17, 2025. There is no saying what is in store for the 2025 half of the residency, but time will tell. Again, the venue and the Eagles are a match made in heaven. So, if you are a devout Eagles fan, this show is a rite of passage.
