We Asked AI to Create 30 Fake Band Names – Check Out the Results

As anyone who has ever tried to start a band knows, perhaps the hardest thing—more than playing guitar, keys, drums, more than writing songs or getting people to come out to shows—is landing on the perfect band name.

Videos by American Songwriter

Members have been known to debate dozens and dozens of possibilities. A certain music journalist who once played in a band in Seattle, Washington, was known to even suggest “Word Document” as a possible moniker. Indeed, it gets grizzly fast.

So, here at American Songwriter, we thought it might be smart, or at least a bit inspiring, to ask ChatGPT for some fake band name suggestions. Perhaps one or three would stick out as great options. Perhaps it would just get the wheels turning. Hey, if it worked for Childish Gambino and the Wu-Tang name generator, why not here, too? Find 30 band names below.
