3 Movie Cameos Featuring Country Stars
1. Trace Adkins – Square Dance
Though Trace Adkins has had several larger roles than the one we see him perform in Square Dance, this cameo acted as his big screen debut. Adkins plays a member of the swinging Bayou Band. While Winona Rider’s character and her friends are attempting to two step, Adkins can be seen providing them with musical encouragement.
Oh they tell me of a home far beyond the skies
Oh they tell me of a home far away
Oh they tell me of a place where no storm clouds rise
Oh they tell me of an unclouded day
2. Willie Nelson – Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me
Willie Nelson‘s cameo in Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me is all for the benefit of a prolonged inappropriate joke. The country star appears on the screen for a fleeting moment, using his name as a bit of innuendo. It’s perhaps not the most prestigious role for a musical icon to play, but it’s certainly a memorable appearance.
Whiskey River take my mind
Don’t let her memory torture me
Whiskey River don’t run dry
You’re all I got, take care of me
3. Tim McGraw – Four Christmases
Tim McGraw plays a supporting role in the holiday comedy film Four Christmases. He plays the immature brother of Vince Vaughn. While Vaughn’s main character attempts to assert some grown up boundaries, he and fellow brother Jon Favreau resort to physical violence. It’s sure to bring an incredulous smile to the viewers face.
In the desert they’re hanging Christmas lights
From a cactus Christmas tree
And all the way over the sea
In Tokyo, they’re hanging mistletoe
