There is probably some kind of science behind why certain pop songs get stuck in your head for hours or days, while others go in one ear and out the other. Regardless of what weird psychological process happens when we listen to addictive pop tunes, one canโt deny that some of them are fun to have stuck in your head. Letโs take a look at just four of the most addictive pop songs of all time!
1. โGimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)โ by ABBA.
In the world of addictive pop songs, this ABBA classic has been stuck in the heads of listeners since the late 1970s. โGimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)โ is probably the most recognizable disco track of all time, and itโs also one of ABBAโs best songs. The kids even recognize ABBAโs staying power; this song went viral on TikTok a few times in the last couple of years.

2. โToxicโ by Britney Spears
Britney Spears has been dominating the charts with hits since the late 1990s. Weโd be bold enough to say that most of her songs are earworms that are hard to forget. That being said, the 2004 single โToxicโ is particularly enjoyable, even if it gets stuck in your head for days on end. Few songs have a hook as catchy as this one.
3. โGet Luckyโ by Daft Punk
This 2013 collaborative effort between Daft Punk and Pharrell was a no. 1 around the world when it was first released. We get why. Itโs a nightclub staple, itโs stupidly catchy, and (despite the sexual innuendo throughout the song) just radio-friendly enough to be listenable in every situation. Well, maybe not at funerals. But we wouldnโt be surprised if a few people who passed on in the 2010s demanded this song be played as they were laid to rest. Itโd be a funny bit, at least.
4. โWhatโs Up?โ by 4 Non Blondes
If you were around to hear this song in the mid-1990s, you probably havenโt forgotten it. โWhatโs Up?โ by 4 Non Blondes was a virtually inescapable one-hit wonder for years. Linda Perryโs vocals are peak on this song, and the overall melody and vibe are difficult to get out of oneโs head. Itโs a pop-rock classic that most fans didnโt want to forget.
