Listen: Jon Bon Jovi Joins Forces With the Philadelphia Eagles and Jason Kelce for Christmas Song “Run Rudolph Run”

With Christmas just a few days away, Jason Kelce once again joined forces with Jordan Mailata and Lane Johnson to produce a third Eagles Christmas album. Having produced two before, the linemen felt right at home with releasing the new album in November. Just in time for the holidays, fans rushed to get the album as sales went to raise funds to give a special holiday present to every teacher and student in public and charter schools in Philadelphia. And although the album released just last month, it seems Kelce had a surprise up his sleeve as he collaborated with Jon Bon Jovi on “Run Rudolph Run.”

Already featuring stars like Stevie Nicks, Kelce appeared to be pulling out all the stops when he decided to call on Bon Jovi. A legendary singer in the music industry, Bon Jovi and Kelce wanted to celebrate Christmas by covering the classic song from Chuck Berry. Recorded during the 1950s, Berry wrote the song himself but ultimately had to give a writing credit to Johnny Marks, who trademarked the character Rudolph the Red-Nose Reindeer.

Jon Bon Jovi Helps Support Local Schools

Discussing the process of bringing the album to life and the goal Kelce and his fellow linemen set, executive producer Conner Barwin explained, “When the guys said they wanted to give each student and teacher in the School District of Philadelphia a gift from the record this year, I knew it was ambitious, but I also knew if we could tap into that special spirit in Philadelphia, we could do it.”

Helping support a strong foundation in education, Kelce, Mailata, and Johnson visited schools in the area. Barwin added, “Visiting the schools with Kelce, Lane, Jordan, and our partners was incredibly rewarding and a day that none of us will forget. Seeing the joy and happiness throughout the schools on all of the students’ and teachers’ faces is what it’s all about and a perfect way to celebrate the success of what has been an incredible three years making a holiday trilogy with these guys!”

To date, A Philly Special Christmas Special raised over $3 million dollars with over $1 million going to local charities like Children’s Crisis Treatment Center and local schools. As for the cover of “Run Rudolph Run”, it is scheduled to release on Friday, December 20th.
