Luke Combs is one of the biggest stars in country music today. In less than a decade, he has collected nearly 20 No. 1 singles, three chart-topping albums, and a trophy case full of awards. Additionally, he has toured far and wide, sharing his songs with fans across the United States and around the world. However, the North Carolina native doesn’t let the fame go to his head.

Ahead of last year’s CMA Awards, Combs took a moment to speak with Taste of Country. During their conversation, the “Hurricane” singer revealed that despite his fame he still has “redneck” tendencies and likes to live a simple life.
Luke Combs on His “Redneck” Tendencies
“You’ve had some success. What is something redneck you still do?” asked the publication. “I mean, a lot,” Luke Combs said. “There’s not a lot of new underwear in my drawer, you know what I mean?” he added.
Combs knows he has plenty of money and could splurge. However, that’s just not who he is. “I could have the newest and nicest of everything but I just don’t,” he explained. “I have a lot of nice things but I’m very, very thankful for but I’ll get the most use out of what I do have.”
Then, Combs revealed the oldest thing he has in his home. “I just bought a coat rack…with the arms that come out,” he revealed. “I just bought one of those from an antique store. It was, like, mega cheap and it’s like from the 1800s,” he added.
Combs went on to say that he loves going out and finding relics like his new coat rack. “I’ll rip up an antique store. I love an antique store,” he said.
Recently, Combs performed in Australia, thousands of miles away from his home state of North Carolina. While he was there, he encouraged his audience to follow their dreams before thanking them for supporting him while he chased his. “You’ve got all the time in the world to figure out what the hell you want to do. Don’t let anybody tell you otherwise,” he told his young fans. It seems that he followed his own advice and found exactly how he wants to live his life.
