Last year, Travis Kelce swept girlfriend Taylor Swift into a frenzied embrace after his Kansas City Chiefs nabbed their second straight Lombardi Trophy. This Sunday (Feb. 9,) the All-Pro tight end will try to make it three in a row. With the “Bad Blood” superstar cheering from the stands, the Chiefs will go head-to-head with the Philadelphia Eagles for an epic Super Bowl LIX matchup at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Having played in (and won) three Super Bowl games, the 35-year-old Ohioan has seen his fair share of national anthem performances. And he’s got some strong opinions on who delivered the best “Star-Spangled Banner” rendition.
This Country Star Gave the Most “Electric” National Anthem Performance
During Thursday’s (Feb. 6) episode of their New Heights podcast, Jason Kelce, 37, asked younger brother Travis which musician performed the “most electric” version of “The Star-Spangled Banner.”
Travis Kelce didn’t hesitate. “You already know, it’s Chris Stapleton,” he said. “On a sad day, I will put that video on. I’ll go to YouTube.”
The velvety-voiced “Tennessee Whiskey” crooner belted the national anthem ahead of 2023’s Super Bowl LVII matchup. Ironically, that year pitted brother against brother, as the Chiefs narrowly defeated Jason and his Philadelphia Eagles.
Apparently, the retired NFL center hasn’t forgotten. “Just to watch me and [coach] Nick Sirianni cry and then revel at the fact that you beat us?” Jason joked.
Lightheartedly, Travis replied that he had “never looked at it like that.” He added, “But more so Chris did his thing, one of my favorite performances ever.”
On that, they could agree. “Yeah. It was very electric,” Jason said.

Taylor Swift Will Cheer On Travis Kelce at Super Bowl LIX
Notably, Taylor Swift flew nearly 6,000 miles from Tokyo to LAX in order to support Travis Kelce during last year’s Super Bowl. With the Eras Tour now behind her, this year’s itinerary should be much less chaotic.
Fresh off five GRAMMY wins, Kendrick Lamar will headline this year’s halftime show. The “Not Like Us” rapper previously collaborated with Swift on a remix of “Bad Blood,” sparking rumors that the “Fortnight” singer will make a cameo during his performance.
However, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes recently dashed the hopes of Swifties everywhere. “As long as (Travis Kelce) is playing and we’re in the Super Bowl, it’s going to be hard for her to do the halftime show,” Mahomes said during a Monday (Feb. 3) press conference. “So, hopefully, Trav keeps playing and we keep making it to the Super Bowl.”
