How to Vote for ‘American Idol’ Top 12: Support Your Favorite Artist

While fans waited for what seemed like years for the new season of American Idol, season 23 appeared to fly by as Carrie Underwood made her return as a judge. Finding a perfect balance with fellow judges Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan, country singer Jelly Roll also joined the show as the “Artist in Residence.” And over the last few weeks, the judges and Jelly Roll helped the remaining contestants absolutely dazzle on stage. With more than a few memorable moments throughout the season, the singers now hope to win over fans as voting recently started. And with the Top 12 just around the corner, here are all the details about when and where to vote.

Just last weekend, fans received the chance to start supporting their favorite singer on American Idol. With the singers sharing their life stories while offering some stellar covers of hit songs, fans can vote up to 10 times for their favorite contestants. But for those who might not know, voting doesn’t open until the show ends. Airing at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT, voting won’t be available until 10:00 p.m. ET/PT. 

Using either the American Idol app or website, fans must create a free account if they want to support a specific singer. Once having an account, fans can pick their favorite contestant and the number of times they want to vote for that person. For those without a computer, the American Idol app made it incredibly easy to vote. Simply open the app and head over to the “Go to Vote Now” section. But be sure to hit the “Save” button to make sure the votes register.

If using the website or app wasn’t enough, American Idol fans can also text to support a singer. With each contestant given a number, fans can text that number to 21523. And wanting to make it even easier for fans, here is the complete list of singers and the number associated with them. 

Note, with some singers listed above not making it into the Top 14, be sure to watch the newest episode of American Idol to see any potential numerical changes before casting your vote. Don’t miss American Idol, airing tonight at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
