THR’s source did not confirm any other details. However, they did disclose an official statement on the matter. “Big Loud has sold a minority stake in Morgan Wallen’s master recording catalog to Chord Music Partners, as part of a strategic investment to expand the label’s global footprint and fuel long-term artist development,” stated the Big Loud Rep.

They added, “The deal was executed with the support of the internal Big Loud team, alongside partners at Chord Music, Republic Records & UMG, PLUS Capital, Eisner, Loeb & Loeb, DLA Piper, Dickinson Wright and Armanino.”

Behind Morgan Wallen’s Record Label, Big Loud

Founded in 2013 by Craig Wiseman, Big Loud has become one of the premier record labels in Nashville, Tennessee. Their major client is Morgan Wallen. However, other artists on their roster include Miranda Lambert, HARDY, Ernest, Charles Wesley Godwin, Lauren Alaina, and several other major country players. Furthermore, Big Loud also has a publishing division that represents Ashley Cooke, Ernest, Lauren Watkins, Dallas Smith, and Craig Wiseman.

At this time, the percentage of Chord Music Partners’ ownership is unknown. Regardless, given that Big Loud’s catalog owns Wallen’s Dangerous: The Double Album, One Thing at a Time, and No. 1 singles “Whisky Glasses” and “Last Night,” they stand to benefit immensely from this deal thanks to the fact that all of these materials will continuously generate revenue for years to come. Concerning Big Loud, well, they just made $200 million. So, they can use that money to develop new talent and create more records. Thus, expanding their business.

In addition to Big Loud’s deal, Morgan Wallen also just recently announced that he was starting his own publishing company in partnership with Warner Chappell Music Nashville. Wallen’s company, Wilder Music, also just recently announced that their first client is Jared Mullins, who wrote hit singles “Thank God” and “Homemade.” Business is booming in Nashville’s country music scene.
