My Chemical Romance Drop ‘Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge’ Deluxe Album for 20th Anniversary

My Chemical Romance‘s breakthrough sophomore album Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge just got a facelift for its 20th anniversary. The influential emo band just dropped a deluxe version of the album, complete with “The Ghost Of You” music video getting a film restoration.

The deluxe edition has been remixed and remastered for new and old audiences. It will be available on CD, at least 8 different colored vinyl variants, and digitally. Fans can purchase vinyl through Target, Walmart, and on the band’s official website. The website also boasts new merch, along with the CD version.

Producer Richard Costey remastered the album, who has worked with Fiona Apple, Vampire Weekend, Foo Fighters, and more. The CD and vinyl come with brand new cover art featuring a dark, moody image of a rosary with the album title in red underneath. Far from the iconic Demolition Lovers, but it’s Three Cheers for a new aesthetic.

Along with the newly remastered tracks, the album features four live tracks that My Chemical Romance recorded for the BBC in 2005. These versions of “I’m Not Okay (I Promise),” “Helena,” “The Ghost Of You,” and “You Know What They Do To Guys Like Us In Prison” were previously unreleased until now.

My Chemical Romance To Embark On Stadium Tour In July

Alongside the deluxe release of Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge, My Chemical Romance will embark on their summer tour in July. Long Live: The Black Parade will feature the band once again showcasing The Black Parade in full across North America.

Interestingly, the band will have different openers for each tour stop. For example, the Tampa, Florida stop on September 13 will have Evanescence kicking off the show (if you’re going come say hi).

The tour begins on July 11 in Seattle, Washington. They will hit San Francisco, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Toronto, Boston, Chicago, and more before concluding at Shaky Knees Festival in Atlanta on September 20.

Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge and The Black Parade are two of My Chemical Romance’s most influential albums in the early 2000s emo scene, and they remain crucial listening. Still, fans can’t help but wonder, will the band ever go back to making new music? According to guitarist Frank Iero, speculating is a waste of time. If new music were to happen, he said, “we will tell you.”
