Back in August 2024, Marilyn Manson looked to promote his newest album One Assassination Under God – Chapter 1 with a tour. While taking his show all over the United States, he planned to take his show internationally with the European leg kicking off in October in Brighton, England. But that show ended up canceled after a campaign started against the singer and his history of sexual assault allegations.

Back in 2021, the singer’s ex-fiancee, Evan Rachel Wood, broke her silence, accusing Manson of “grooming” her as a teenager and even “brainwashing” her. After the initial allegations, several other women came forward with their own stories surrounding assault and Manson. Staying close to the story, No Stage for Abusers decided to campaign to get the singer’s concerts in Europe canceled. And their efforts appeared to work as the singer canceled his European kickoff show, causing Ticketmaster to refund those who purchased tickets.

Marilyn Manson Continues To Deny Allegations
Although Manson faced several assault allegations, the singer constantly denied the rumors and even suggested it was a “coordinated attack by former partners.” While the case landed in the hands of Los Angeles prosecutors, they eventually dropped it due to the statute of limitations and suggested the claims couldn’t be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.
Still, No Stage for Abusers applauded their efforts against Manson. “Being held accountable for violent misogyny is not cancel culture. It is the correct outcome for an issue that has plagued the music industry for a long time. The articles, and Manson fans, also fail to mention the long list of disgusting sexist and abusive comments Manson has consistently made that are also part of the reason why we are opposing this tour.”
Focused on standing up against celebrities and singers using their fame to protect themselves from the law, the group added, “The notion that ‘controversial rock stars’ should be allowed to say and do what they want with no consequences is ridiculous and lazy and ignores the harmful impact their actions have. Brighton & Hove council and Brighton Centre have set a strong example and ourselves and Male Allies Challenging Sexism hope other venues will follow their lead and show they are serious in tackling misogyny and male violence against women and girls.”
As for Manson, he has yet to give a statement surrounding the cancelation of the concert and ongoing campaign against him.
