Something big might be in the works for fans of Fleetwood Mac. Rumours (ha!) of a potential reunion between the band’s iconic songwriters and musicians, Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham, have been flying around following the recent appearance of a very mysterious billboard on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles this past week.

The billboard appears to tease a reunion between Nicks and Buckingham in the form of a reissue of the pair’s 1973 collaborative album, Buckingham Nicks.
The billboard in question shows an image of Nicks and Buckingham from the 1970s, specifically from the album’s original cover art. The image is accompanied by the headline, “Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham: Buckingham Nicks, September 19.”
The location of the billboard is also noteworthy. The signage hangs near Sound City Studios, where the original record was first recorded back in the early 1970s.

The potential upcoming Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham reunion could go beyond a simple reissue or remaster of their famed collaboration from 1973. In fact, neither artist has confirmed that a reissue is actually happening. Rather, they have both opted to be quite cryptic on their respective social media accounts.
Both Nicks and Buckingham shared the lyrics to the song “Frozen Love” from Buckingham Nicks last week. An announcement is likely going to happen very soon. Could it be a reissue? A potential reunion tour between the pair? Who knows! But fans online are already buzzing about what it all could mean.
Buckingham Nicks was released in 1973 and is Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham’s only release as a duo. Sadly, the original album was considered a commercial failure at the time. But shortly after this folk rock album was released, the two musicians were invited to join Fleetwood Mac.
The story goes that Mick Fleetwood had stopped at the studio while shopping around for recording studios, and happened to hear “Frozen Love” on the monitors. He liked what he heard and invited them to join the band. And, well, the rest is history.
Considering that this particular album has never earned a remastering or a re-release on digital platforms, I’m leaning toward the theory that a reissue of the album is imminent. Buckingham Nicks has never even been released on CD, and bootlegs have been floating around for decades. A proper reissue is definitely overdue.
