Country Star and 80s Rock Legend Joining Forces With Wiz Khalifa for 2026 NFL Draft Headlining Show

On April 23, the NFL will kick off the 2026 draft. Given the amazing year Fernando Mendoza had at Indiana, the quarterback will most likely go first overall. With the Las Vegas Raiders holding the first selection, most experts agree that the Heisman winner will go to Las Vegas. While lasting the weekend, the NFL draft will include more than analysis and shocking moments. Famed rocker Bret Michaels is expected to take the stage as a surprise headliner.

Wanting to take its brand international, the NFL decided to turn the draft into a full-blown celebration. Promoting the event as more than just a selection process, the league is leaning into a full weekend experience packed with music, fan events, and entertainment. And for Michaels, there was no better time to perform for the NFL than when in Pittsburgh.

Before becoming the frontman of Poison, Michaels was a young musician growing up in Pennsylvania. Although his talents brought him fame and accolades, he never forgot about his home. And when invited by the NFL, he insisted, “I cannot be more honored, excited, and fired up to perform at the Pittsburgh 2026 Draft. As a Western Pennsylvania native and lifelong Steelers and NFL fan, this is a dream come true.”

Bret Michaels Won’t Be Alone At The 2026 NFL Draft

Taking a moment to relish the opportunity, Michaels couldn’t help but glance back at the road that led him to this moment. “As a young diabetic searching for hope, football, music, family and friends inspired me to stay positive and never give up.”

Alongside Michaels will be another Pittsburgh native, Wiz Khalifa. The Senior Director of Events and Game Presentation for the NFL, Tim Tubito, explained the organization’s decision to add the headliners. “Bringing the Draft to Pittsburgh gives us a chance to tap into a city with a deep connection to football and music. This year’s event brings together artists with strong regional roots and global appeal to create memorable moments onstage throughout Draft week.”

This year’s draft is about more than picks and predictions. With Michaels and Khalifa performing, the NFL is making sure the weekend hits from every angle.
