Robin Kaye, best known as a long-tenured music supervisor for the reality competition show American Idol, as well as her husband, Thomas Deluca, were recently found dead on Monday in their home in Los Angeles. According to reports, the couple were both shot to death in the home, located in the Encino area of Los Angeles.

Police announced that the officers were called to the home on Monday for a welfare check, as the pair had not been seen for a few days. They discovered the awful scene upon entering, and both Kaye and her husband were pronounced dead on the scene.
According to Deadline, a rep for American Idol released a statement offering their condolences to Kaye’s family in the wake of this tragedy.
“We are devastated to hear of Robin and her dear husband, Tom’s, passing,” the representative said. “Robin has been a cornerstone of the Idol family since 2009 and was truly loved and respected by all who came in contact with her. Robin will remain in our hearts forever, and we share our deepest sympathy with her family and friends during this difficult time.”
As of this writing, no motive for the crime has been determined or publicly announced. The crime is currently being investigated by the LAPD’s Homicide Division.
Remembering the Life of Robin Kaye
Robin Kaye has been a longstanding part of American Idol for years, serving as a music supervisor on the show from 2002 to 2023. She worked on nearly 300 episodes of the show.
According to her IMDB, Kaye also served as the music supervisor for a wide range of other television performances, including the NAACP Image Awards, the Miss Universe pageants, Crashed, and many others.
Kaye began her career working for country star Waylon Jennings in Nashville, Tennessee. She then joined MTM Records as the label’s Vice President of Artist Development. She eventually moved to Los Angeles after a stint in the music publishing industry, where she launched her company, SyncroniCity.
