“All Worth It”: It’s a Girl For Emmy Russell and Tyler Ward

Singer-songwriter Tyler Ward and American Idol favorite Emmy Russell had some life-changing news to share on Saturday (Feb. 1.) Ward, 40, posted a reel of himself cradling their new bundle of joy in a hospital room to his Instagram page.

“Healthy baby,” Ward wrote in the caption, adding the hashtags #newborn and #girldad.

The couple didn’t provide further details, although Russell chimed in below in the comments section. “All worth it,” wrote the “Redemption” singer, 26.

Russell celebrated the couple’s last night before parenthood with a montage of photos and videos posted to her own Instagram page. “Tonight us, tomorrow parents,” she wrote. “Can’t wait to see who you are as a dad and who I am as a mom, but know I’ll always cherish when it was just us.”

“That’s Kind of Been the Journey”

Emmy Russell kept her pregnancy quiet until her third trimester. She shared the news during a live appearance on the Got It From My Momma podcast that aired Dec. 10.

“Y’all, me and Tyler [Ward] are expecting a baby girl,” the American Idol finalist said. “So I’m so excited. Um, right out of American Idol. I didn’t know, so, you know, that’s kind of been the journey.”

The pair hard launched their relationship last June with a social media post captioned, “Classified. For now…” Russell’s mother, Patsy, confirmed to Southern Living that they have officially tied the knot.

Since her American Idol elimination, Russell has released four original tracks: “skinny,” “Redemption,” “Beautiful Things,” and “Like That.” She shared a performance of the latter to her Instagram on Dec. 30.

“This girl inspires people everywhere she goes,” season 22 winner Abi Carter wrote in the comments.
