Finding inspiration from singers like Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, and Billie Eilish, Abi Carter hoped to one day find her way to the stage. Throughout her younger years, the singer found herself performing for restaurants and bars. But in 2023, her life changed when she auditioned for American Idol. Part of the Los Angeles auditions, Carter was the last person to audition. Landing a spot on the show, she eventually won season 22. While a major milestone in her career, Carter recently celebrated more than her American Idol win as she looked back on 2024.

When it comes to celebrating the new year, many take the time to look back on the last 12 months. For others, they tend to look forward and create a list of what they would like to accomplish. But when it came to Carter, she had more than enough to celebrate as 2024 marked a big year for the singer.
Posting a collage of photos of herself over the year, Carter captioned the post, writing, “I genuinely don’t know how to put the best year of my life into words. All I can say is thank you so much to everyone who has transformed me and changed my entire life. 2023 me could never have believed the past 365 days would happen the way that they did. Here’s to an unbelievable 2025 too.”
Listing off some of her milestones in 2024, Carter added, “Major things that have happened this year: 1. Won American Idol 2. Played my first headlining show 3. Released my first song 4. Released my first album 5. Traveled to 9 different states: California, Hawaii, Texas, Minnesota, New York, Florida, Oklahoma, Tennessee, New Jersey 6. My sister is in labor AS I POST THIS and I’m going to be an aunt!”
Abi Carter Ready To Hit The Road
With a year full of firsts and milestones, Carter saved the best for last. Although celebrating 2024, the singer looked to 2025 and expanding her grasp on the music industry. And it all started with a tour. “I started prepping for a 2025 tour, watch out for that announcement.”
Fans rallied around the singer, excited to follow Carter’s career in music. One fan wrote, “HAPPY NEW YEAR ABI I’m so incredibly proud of you. I’ve been here since your audition for American idol and I’ve been screaming your songs since. Also a TOUR?!”
While winning American Idol back in May 2024, she released her debut album Ghosts In the Backyard only a few months later in November. With a tour on the way and songs like “The Lamppost”, Carter is on her way to becoming more than an American Idol.
