Teaming up with high school classmate Andre 3000, Big Boi (born Antwan Patton) formed Outkast in 1992. Together, the Georgia artists made up one of the most influential hip-hop acts of all time, winning six Grammy Awards and producing three No. 1 singles. Each has also achieved notable success on their own, with Big Boi releasing three solo albums since 2010. Now approaching 50, the “Ms. Jackson” hitmaker will prove he can still command a stage with a rousing halftime performance during Saturday’s (Jan. 18) NFL divisional matchup between the Houston Texans and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Big Boi Takes the Stage in KC
For the second time in a month, the Houston Texans will come face-to-face with the two-time defending Super Bowl champs. The Kansas City Chiefs need just two more wins to reach the big game for the fourth time in five years. Meanwhile, the Texans are seeking their first divisional playoff win in franchise history.
Big Boi’s Atlanta Falcons missed out on the playoffs for the sixth straight year. Still, he will at least experience the postseason atmosphere when he takes the stage during halftime at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri.

Aight then!
The Georgia rapper will surely take the crowd on an electrifying trip down memory lane with a mix of his solo and OutKast hits. It wouldn’t be a Big Boi performance without his 2003 single “The Way You Move,” which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

About Lanell Lightfoot, the National Anthem Performer
Big Boi isn’t the only artist taking the field during the Texans-Chiefs game. Solo artist Lanell Lightfoot is set to perform the national anthem at Arrowhead Stadium.
As a member of the Grammy-winning ensemble Sounds of Blackness, the Minnesota-born artist has toured with gospel giants like CeCe Winans, Yolanda Adams, and Kirk Franklin. Lightfoot has also performed for former President George W. Bush and First Lady Laura Bush; along with the late Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom.
The Kansas City Chiefs and the Houston Texans will square off at 4:30 p.m. Eastern on ESPN and ABC.
