Bon Jovi Makes Debut on This Billboard Chart Thanks to an Unlikely Collaborator

Founded in 1983 in Sayreville, New Jersey, Bon Jovi conquered rock music with hits like “You Give Love a Bad Name” and “Livin’ on a Prayer.” Never shying away from new territory, Jon Bon Jovi and the gang became the first-ever rock band to occupy the top spot on the Billboard Hot Country chart with 2006’s “Who Says You Can’t Go Home.” And it would appear the Grammy winners are not finished reaching new heights. They make their debut this week on yet another Billboard chart.

Bon Jovi Narrowly Misses Top 10 on Inaugural Billboard Chart

Pop music and dance music have existed in the other’s orbit for years. Now, there’s a Billboard chart to reflect that. The music and entertainment publication debuted its Hot Dance/Pop Songs chart this week (Jan. 18.) Tate McRae’s “It’s OK I’m OK” tops the first-ever rankings.

The 15-position chart ranks songs with dance-centric vocals, melody and hooks by artists not considered rooted in the dance/electronic genre. And “Now Or Never,” Bon Jovi’s collab with reggaeton rapper Pitbull, debuts at No. 11 on the inaugural frame.

Released in November, “Now Or Never” is a remix of the Bon Jovi classic “It’s My Life” with added verses from Pitbull. The band’s frontman, Jon Bon Jovi, joined Pitbull onstage at the Latin Grammys to perform their collaboration.

“pitbull and bon jovi teaming up im tearing up its so peak i love them,” one fan wrote on X/Twitter.

How “Now or Never” Came To Be

In September, Jon Bon Jovi joined Pitbull onstage at the Jones Beach Theater in New York to perform “Now Or Never” during Mr. Worldwide’s Party After Dark tour.

The pair struck up a friendship after meeting at the 2017 Songwriters Hall of Fame induction and awards ceremony. Last April, they joined forces for a duet of “Thank God & Jimmy Buffett” during the “Keep The Party Going: A Tribute To Jimmy Buffett” at the Hollywood Bowl.
