Bruce Springsteen Teases Possible Upcoming Archival Release with Mysterious Social Media Post: “What Was Lost Has Now Been Found”

Bruce Springsteen has posted an enigmatic photo on his social media pages that appears to be teasing some kind of upcoming archival release. The image shows a mostly blank recording studio track sheet, with the name Thrill Hill Recording at the top.

The document also has the date April 3 written at the top, as well as a note that reads, “WHAT WAS LOST HAS NOW BEEN FOUND.” Also, the name SPRINGSTEEN is stamped at the bottom of the sheet in all caps.

Since the message was posted on April 1, April Fools’ Day, it’s possible that The Boss is simply having some fun with his fans. That being said, there are multiple reasons to believe that the note is a preview of a real planned release.

For one, Thrill Hill Recording is the legal name of the recording company Bruce established in 1982. The company has had multiple locations over the years, most of which have been in New Jersey.

Meanwhile, Springsteen also announced in a statement at the end of 2024 that a number of special releases were planned for 2025 that “will include a look back at [his] storied recording career, featuring never-before-heard material.”

That news tidbit sparked speculation that Bruce is planning to put out a sequel to his 1998 rarities box set Tracks.

Rolling Stone Has Speculated the Post Is Teasing a Tracks Sequel

An article posted April 1 on RollingStone.com also speculated that Springsteen’s post may have been a new Tracks box set.

The original Tracks was a four-CD compilation that featured unreleased rarities from the first 25 years of Bruce’s career.

In 2022, Springsteen discussed the possible archival material he could include in a sequel box set with Rolling Stone.

“I have a box set of five unreleased albums that are basically post-1988,” he said. “People look at my work in the Nineties, and they go, ‘The Nineties wasn’t a great decade for Bruce. He was kind of doing this, and he wasn’t in the E Street Band …’ I actually made a lot of music during that period of time. I actually made albums. For one reason or another, the timing wasn’t right or whatever, I didn’t put them out.”

If the Boss’ social media post is legit, it looks like fans will find out what he has planned on Thursday, April 3.

Springsteen’s Upcoming Tour Plans

Meanwhile, Springsteen is scheduled to return to the road with the E Street Band starting in May.

So far, Bruce and company have 16 confirmed European dates, running from a May 14 concert in Manchester, U.K., though a July 3 show in Milan, Italy.

Most recently, Springsteen performed at a star-studded Patti Smith tribute concert that was held on March 26 at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
