Chappell Roan is not letting any photographer disrespect her. And her lack of fear in the face of getting “canceled” by the entertainment world for sticking up for herself is a breath of fresh air.

Roan made headlines earlier this year after telling a photographer at the MTV Video Music Awards to “shut the f*** up” after the photographer (allegedly) yelled the same thing at another photographer or possibly Roan.
Roan has also been the talk of the town for her social media comments in which she set boundaries with her fans and denounced the “stalking” she has experienced during her whirlwind rise to fame.
Now, Roan has yet again set some firm boundaries. This time, it was with a photographer who allegedly disrespected her at the Grammy Awards. Roan spotted the photographer while walking the red carpet last Friday at the premiere of Olivia Rodrigo’s Guts World Tour movie.
Chappell Roan Tells Photographer “You Were So Disrespectful to Me at the Grammys”
The “Good Luck, Babe!” hitmaker was posing for photographers outside of the film premiere before spotting a specific person in the crowd. Roan quickly approached them after clearly saying “You!” out loud.
In a clip, Roan can be heard saying “You were so disrespectful to me at the Grammys. You yelled at me at a Grammy party. I remember. You were so rude to me. And I deserve an apology for that. You need to apologize to me.”
The photographer in question was not in the frame, their voice could not be heard, and it isn’t clear who the person was. Roan’s fans have been taking on the role of amateur detectives to find out the photographer’s identity. However, nothing has been confirmed as of this writing.
After the confrontation, Roan was coaxed away by members of (we assume) her team, and she continued on her way.
Olivia Rodrigo has spoken highly of Roan when it comes to protecting oneself in the music industry.
“She actually gives me so much advice on taking care of myself and being me in an industry that’s so overwhelming sometimes,” said Rodrigo in a recent Billboard interview.
While some might bemoan Roan’s “hostile” attitude, one can’t help but find it refreshing. For years, photographers, paparazzi, and fans have lacked boundaries with famous celebs. Roan’s health dose of confrontation could very well change the standard for how people are treated in the entertainment world.
