Charli XCX took the GRAMMYs stage in Los Angeles tonight where she performed a selection from her heavily nominated 2024 album Brat. She concluded her Sweat Tour with Troye Sivan last October, but the two will join up again when Charli headlines Primavera Sound on June 5.

She started her performance by stating she’d be singing “the least GRAMMY appropriate songs.” Beginning in the parking garage, Charli brought her signature style to the GRAMMYs, starting out with “Von Dutch” as she strutted onto the stage. Essentially, Charli brought her messy, sweaty, ravey tour to the GRAMMYs, and the crowd was loving it. As she sang “Guess,” underwear fell from the ceiling, and a pop-up on the screen explained that all unworn undergarments would be donated to the charity I Support the Girls, which benefits domestic violence survivors.

As for her nominations, this is the second time she’s been up for awards at the GRAMMYs. The first was for the song “Fancy” with Iggy Azalea, which was nominated for Record of the Year and Best Pop Group/Duo Performance at the 57th annual awards. This year, she’s up for eight nominations: Album of the Year, Best Dance/Electronic Album, and Best Recording Package for Brat; Best Pop Group/Duo Performance for “Guess”; Best Music Video and Record of the Year for “360”; Best Dance Pop Recording for “Von Dutch”; and Best Pop Solo Performance for “Apple.”

Charli XCX Performs at the GRAMMYs, Plus What the Recording Academy is Doing for Wildfire Relief
With the GRAMMYs occurring in the middle of a wildfire crisis in Los Angeles, there’s special attention on what the Recording Academy is doing to support victims and those in need, especially in the music industry. All major pre-GRAMMY events have been canceled, such as parties hosted by Spotify, UMG, Sony Music Group, and BMG. Official Recording Academy events have also been canceled.
The Recording Academy has also partnered with MusiCares to launch the Los Angeles Fire Relief Effort. The partnership has already raised $1 million and distributed approximately $2 million with the help of additional donations.
There is a special focus on the wildfires during this GRAMMY broadcast, with frequent calls for donations and fundraising. With the pre-GRAMMY parties canceled, all remaining gatherings were condensed into four events, each with a focus on fundraising. Additionally, MusiCares will host their Persons of the Year gala on January 31 to honor the Grateful Dead. This event will also focus on fundraising for the Los Angeles Fire Relief Effort.
