Dave Grohl Teams Up With Guns N’ Roses for Performance of “Paradise City” at Glastonbury

Despite not being booked for Glastonbury 2023, Dave Grohl has made several appearances at the festival. His latest surprise appearance came alongside Guns N’ Roses as the “My Hero” singer joined the headliners for a performance of “Paradise City.”

Grohl came onto the stage, guitar blazing, to assist the classic rockers with their 1987 hit. Given the song’s mammoth appeal, the band chose “Paradise City” to help close out the night. Grohl only heightened the energy from the crowd when he walked out on stage.

Check out a clip from the performance, below.

Glastonbury isn’t the first time Grohl and Guns N’ Roses have performed together. The frontman previously linked up with the band in 2021 for a different festival, BottleRock in California.

Grohl previously popped up at Glastonbury for a performance alongside Johnny Marr and The Pretenders and a performance alongside his fellow Foo Fighters (although they were disguised under a fake band name).

The Glastonbury appearances come on the heels of the Foo Fighters kicking off their summer tour circuit. Though fans are surely excited to have the band back on stage, the tour comes with some sadness as it is the first without Taylor Hawkins.

Grohl recently took to Instagram to thank the fans for their support amid this emotional tour.

“Hey. It’s been a while,” Grohl wrote. “Now that we’ve returned from our first run of shows, I felt compelled to reach out and thank you all for being there for us. Every night, when I see you singing, it makes me sing harder. When I see you screaming, it makes me scream louder. When I see your tears, it brings me to tears.

“And when I see your joy, it brings me joy,” Grohl continued. “But, I see you…and it feels good to see you, churning up these emotions together because we’ve always done this together. Time and time again. See you soon.”
