Allen issued a statement about the Raven Drum Foundation’s upcoming benefit event.
“New York is like a second home to me, and I feel it’s important to advocate for the well-being of our first responders,” the drummer said. “They withstand continuous trauma and tragedy every day to protect us.” He added, in reference to the 1984 car accident that resultd in the loss of his left arm, “When I had the worst day of my life, they were there. If it weren’t for first responders, I certainly wouldn’t be here.”

At the same time, Def Leppard offered several guitars signed by the band to the highest bidder to raise money for Los Angeles-area firefighters.
