Dierks Bentley Performs Hometown Concert With His Mom and Over 200 of Her Friends

While the voice behind “What Was I Thinkin’”, “Every Mile a Memory”, and “Say You Do”, Dierks Bentley also performed in the 90s parody group Hot Country Knights. Holding a career in country music since the early 2000s, the country singer released eleven studio albums. His last, Broken Branches, hit shelves just a few weeks ago. With Bentley holding over 2.1 million fans on Instagram, it appeared that his biggest fan was his mother, who decided to bring a few of her friends to his recent concert. The only problem, Bentley’s mother had over 200 friends.

Looking to kick off his Broken Branches Tour, Bentley thought the perfect venue to perform was in his home of Phoenix at the Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre. Taking place on June 20th, the country star told the crowd just how special the moment was to him. “There ain’t nothing like launching a new tour, and it running through your hometown, y’all.” Soaking in the atmosphere, he added, “This is so special to me and all the guys, especially when you come to a place where you saw your very first concert when you were 17 years old. This is that place for me. This is where I saw Dwight Yoakam.”

Dierks Bentley Reveals The One Thing His Father Hated

Thankful for the mountain of support he received over the decades, Bentley welcomed his mom to the stage to offer a special performance. Knowing how much she inspired him throughout his childhood, it seemed that his mother also had a few fans when she brought 223 friends to the show.

With many people content with having only a few close friends, Bentley’s mother had more than enough to pack the venue. As a video of Bentley performing on stage was shared on TikTok, it’s unclear how many in the audience were part of her friend’s list.

Outside of Bentley performing alongside his mother, the singer also used the show to honor his late father. Another person who inspired him, the singer explained the one thing his father always hated.  “One thing my dad always hated was I did not tuck my shirt in back then. But I thought tonight, whenever I’m onstage playing country music, I always feel pretty close to my dad. My mom is here tonight. I thought maybe I’d try to tuck it in.”

With Bentley’s shirt tucked in and his mother by his side, the Broken Branches Tour officially kicked off.
