Worlds collided in 1986 when iconic rockers Aerosmith teamed up with hip-hop group Run-DMC for a remix of the former’s 1975 single “Walk This Way.” The new version decisively outshone its predecessor, reaching No. 4 on the Billboard charts. What’s more, “Walk This Way” revived Aerosmith’s faltering career and pioneered an entire musical subgenre. The collab undoubtedly changed the music industry, and now Disturbed frontman David Draiman wants to do the same thing with Kendrick Lamar.

David Draiman Thinks Disturbed Has the Perfect Song for a Kendrick Lamar Collab
Currently, Disturbed is gearing up for The Sickness 25th Anniversary Tour. The heavy metal band—consisting of Dan Donegan, Mike Wengren, David Draiman and John Moyer—is celebrating a quarter century of their quintuple-platinum studio debut.
However, the band is also looking toward the future. And lead vocalist David Draiman wants his band to collaborate with Kendrick Lamar on this generation’s “Walk This Way.”
“It’s something we’ve actually been thinking about pretty seriously,” the “Stupify” singer, 51, said during a recent appearance on Chicago’s Q101 radio station. “And Kendrick is way at the top of the list.”

“Kendrick, Let’s Go!”
Alluding to an upcoming album, Draiman said he thinks Disturbed has the perfect song for the “Not Like Us” superstar. He called it “a modern-day ‘Walk This Way’ or ‘Bring the Noise” (the 1991 marriage between Anthrax and Public Enemy.)
“It’s all about bringing people together, and it needs a strong rapper,” Draiman said. “And Kendrick would definitely be an amazing person to collaborate with. I would love to do that. We would love to do that.”
He then used his airtime to personally appeal to the Super Bowl LIX halftime show headliner. “Kendrick, if you’re at all interested… let’s go ahead and shock the world a little bit,” Draiman said. “Let’s let everybody know that we have more in common than we do that separates us. Let’s take our artistry to the next level.”
Additionally, Kendrick Lamar isn’t the only artist that Disturbed is willing to cross genre lines for. Last January, Draiman publicly begged country songstress Carrie Underwood to take the stage with his band during a show in Nashville.
“Who’d like to see @carrieunderwood sing #donttellme with @disturbed in #nashville ??!!! I sure as hell would!!!” Draiman wrote in the caption. “Whatcha say Carrie? Shall we rock?”
