James “Sandy” Pinkard Pokes Fun At Country Music Stars

In addition to the love and support shown to the Pinkard family, the songwriter spent over a decade as part of the duo Pinkard & Bowden. With Pinkard joining forces with Richard Bowden, the pair released four studio albums that surrounded comedy songs and musical parodies.

Throughout their time in the spotlight, Pinkard & Bowden made fun of numerous country stars like Tanya Tucker, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, and even The Judds. Their last album, Cousins, Cattle, and Other Love Stories, was released in 1992.

Helping shape songs that included “Coca Cola Cowboy” and “You’re The Reason God Made Oklahoma”, Pinkard’s mark on country music went far beyond his comedic personality.
