Last night, the CMA Awards celebrated its 50th anniversary at Nashville, TN’s Bridgestone Arena. Hosts Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood handed out trophies to Garth Brooks (Entertainer of the Year), Maren Morris (New Artist of the Year), Eric Church (Album of the Year for Mr. Misunderstood), Tim McGraw (Song of the Year for the Lori McKenna-penned “Humble and Kind”) and many others.
Performances included a tribute to Ray Charles by Dwight Yoakam and Chris Stapleton, a collaboration between the Dixie Chicks and Beyoncé on Beyoncé’s track “Daddy Problems,” and an all-star medley honoring Dolly Parton featuring Kacey Musgraves, Carrie Underwood, Reba and other female artists.
