The year 2025 is fast approaching, and many people (ourselves included) are thinking about what needs to change in the upcoming year. Paul McCartney, apparently, is also in the same boat. While answering a few fan questions through his website recently, the famous former Beatle made his New Year’s resolution quite clear. To put it simply, Paul McCartney is making it his goal to finish his new album in 2025.

One fan asked McCartney if he had a New Year’s resolution, and Macca was pretty direct about what he wanted out of the new year.
“I’ve been working on a lot of songs, and have had to put it to the side because of the tour,” McCartney said in the Q&A, posted last Saturday. “So, I’m hoping to get back into that and finish up a lot of these songs. So, how’s about that? ‘My New Year’s resolution is to finish a new album!’”
The tour McCartney referenced is his 2024 extension of the Got Back Tour. That powerhouse international tour took McCartney across the globe from early 2022 to December 2024. His final stop on the tour was on December 19 at O2 Arena in London.
Further in the Q&A, McCartney also said that he was planning on taking a bit of a holiday after his multi-year trek around the world. He also noted that he plans to enjoy some “family time.”
“I’m one of those guys that loves to overdo decorations,” McCartney said. “So I need a minute to sit back, relax and enjoy them.”
