Looking at the schedule tonight, not only will SNL air a new episode, but the lineup is simply amazing. Taking over as the host happened to be none other than Jack Black himself. Given his new Minecraft film released on April 4th, it appeared the perfect time for Black to return to Studio 8H to share a few laughs and make sure his fans hit the theaters. And it wasn’t just Black who wanted to promote a new project as the musical guest for the evening were Elton John and Brandi Carlile.

Jack Black Ready To Go “Nacho Libre” On ‘Saturday Night Live’

Although both John and Carlile could have handled the duties themselves, on April 4th, their new collaborative LP, Who Believes in Angels?, dropped. With a great deal of promotions going on tonight at the SNL studio, the group joined forces for a new promo. But it appeared that Black and John had some tension between the two as the legendary singer only referred to the actor as “Black.”

Becoming more agitated as the seconds went on, John even started to talk over Black, who needed Heidi Gardner to step in. Holding Black back, Carlile hoped to ease the tension as Black insisted, “I’m gonna go Nacho Libre on his ass.”

Fans couldn’t wait for the new episode to air tonight as comments from the promo read, “I haven’t seen Elton John and Jack Black, two of the most legendary people on the face of the planet (and my two favorite celebrities), together since the time they both appeared on The Graham Norton Show. Needless to say, I’m excited AF!” Another person added, “Elton John is a true icon and the best musical guest in a long time. Jack Black is a comedian who will be genuinely funny – can’t wait.”

With tonight’s episode sure to be a memorable moment in SNL history, don’t miss Saturday Night Live, airing live at 11:30 p.m. ET/PT on NBC and available to stream on Peacock.
