KISS Legend Gene Simmons Extends Tour Dates for Solo Band

While helping form KISS alongside Paul Stanley, Peter Criss, and Ace Frehley during the early 1970s, Gene Simmons and the band watched as 2023 marked the end of the era. Performing on the stage one last time, the band looked back on the long history of KISS and the memories made along the way. Although KISS will continue with a live avatar concert, it seems that Simmons isn’t done with the stage. Hitting the road for his solo band, Simmons recently added several concerts to his tour.

The Reason Gene Simmons Started Playing Bass

With tickets available to purchase on the Gene Simmons Band website, the band consisted of Jason Walker, Brain Tichy, and even Brent Woods. Although the co-lead singer of KISS, Simmons is known for his skills with the bass. Once speaking with Guitar World about his passion for the instrument, he admitted, “I picked up bass because there were fewer bass players, and it increased my chances of being in a band – which is what I really wanted.”

While comparing himself to Burger King, Simmons insisted, “The guy who came up with hamburgers is worshipped around the world. If you go to a French cooking school, they’d never cook a hamburger – but who the f**k puts frog legs in their mouth? I’m a Burger King Whopper; that’s all the credibility I would ever want.”
