When it comes to fans wanting to see their favorite singer in concert, they looked to spend an average of $135 a ticket. And that is just the start as some tickets can climb into the thousands. Some fans paid an extreme amount to see Taylor Swift in concert. While having a net worth of around $300 million, Lady Gaga decided to do away with ticket prices as she recently announced a free concert in Rio that could easily bring in over one million fans.

On March 7th, Lady Gaga will release her latest album with Mayhem. Marking her first album in nearly five years, the singer remained busy as she helmed The Chromatica Ball tour and explored a career in Hollywood. But finding her way back to the studio, the singer hoped to celebrate the new album with a special concert at Copacabana Beach in Rio. Scheduled for May 3, the concert would be her first performance in Rio since 2012.
Sharing the news on Instagram, Lady Gaga posted a picture of herself on the beach. Calling it the “Mayhem On The Beach”, the singer wrote, “It’s a great honor to be asked to sing for Rio—for my whole career the fans in Brazil have been part of the lifeblood of the little monsters. I’ve been dying to come perform for you for years and was heartbroken when I had to cancel years ago because I was hospitalized.”

Lady Gaga Ready To Make History In Rio
At the time, fans rallied around the singer as she focused on her health and recovery. Never forgetting the love she received, Lady Gaga added, “Your understanding that I needed that time to heal meant the world to me. I am now coming back and I feel better than ever and am working so hard to make sure this show is one you will never forget. Get ready for MAYHEM on the beach.”
Not the first singer to perform a free concert on the beach, Madonna played at the same venue last year and brought in a crowd of 1.6 million people. Although seeming like a lot, in 1994, Rod Stewart walked on the stage with over 4.2 million people screaming his name. Not only offering fans a memorable concert, Stewart set the record for the most-attended concert of all time.
With Lady Gaga known for making history, her “Mayhem On The Beach” is sure to bring fans from all over the world. And for those who might not make it, the concert will air live on TV Globo and Multishow.
