The release follows three previously shared tracks, which came in a collection called Act I: Topanga Canyon. While that release conquered the “pain and sacrifice” of finding freedom, Mind Travel focuses on a psychedelic journey.”

“Where one learns to both ponder the past and embrace the present with open arms,” a description of the release reads. “Inspired by beat poetry, out-of-body experiences and the loss of Price’s family farm.”

“Black Wolf Blues” is a gospel-tinged track with a somber tone while “Mind Travel” is an up-tempo shuffle. “Unoriginal Sin” has a haunting vibe to it. Campbell’s vocals add even more interest to the foreboding track.

“The psychedelic journey continues down the blurry rabbit hole of time and space,” Price shared in a statement. “We were lucky to have Mike Campbell co-write a dark rocker called ‘Unoriginal Sin.’ Working with him on some of these songs was like having a master class in songwriting. Sometimes there are dark corners you haven’t explored for some time, but it does some good to clean them out.”

She wrote the tracks with her husband Jeremy Ivey. Price said this chapter of Strays II was born out of some “incredible breakthroughs” they both had.

“We both had some pretty incredible breakthroughs about accepting death and just reckoning with how fast it’s all going,” Price continued. “It’s okay to be reflective and remember the past as long as you don’t get stuck back there. This part of the trip is where you learn to be satisfied with the present.”

Strays II arrives on October 13th. Check out Act II: Mind Travel, below.
