Ozzy Osbourne Memorial Defiled by Thief in Shocking Arrest

After creating a legacy that included selling over 100 million albums and entering the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice, Ozzy Osbourne sadly passed away on July 22nd. Ozzy’s last contribution to the music industry came just a few weeks prior, when he took the stage with Black Sabbath for one last performance. Although marking the end of his career, no one believed the icon would pass away shortly after. With fans all around the world taking a moment to remember the singer, authorities arrested one person after he defiled Ozzy’s memorial site.

On July 31st, fans lined the streets of Birmingham to honor the career, life, and persona of Ozzy. Creating a memorial for the icon, fans and loved ones placed pictures, cards, and flowers at the site. Sadly, for one person, they believed it was the best place to break the law. According to Consequence, 45-year-old Parviz Jafari was apprehended after reports claimed he was seen stealing flowers from the area on Bond Street. 

With the West Midlands Police Department taking the accusations seriously, officers located Jafrai and arrested him. Wanting to preserve the memorial site, Central Bid Birmingham worked to preserve the area.

Thief Set To Face Judge As Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready Thanks Ozzy Osbourne

As for Jafari, he was taken into custody on August 2nd and will stand in front of a judge for his crimes on September 3rd. 

Besides Jafari’s new legal troubles, the tributes continued to pour in for Ozzy. With the singer’s family mourning his loss, Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready recalled the massive impact Black Sabbath had on him. He wrote on Twitter, “Sad to hear Ozzy died today. When I was in high school I discovered Sabbath. ‘War Pigs’ was terrifying and mesmerizing at the same time. It was Ozzy’s voice that took me away to a dark universe. A great escape. Then when The ‘Blizzard of Ozz’ record came out I was instantly a fan.” 

Gaining over 635,000 likes, McCready thanked Ozzy for making life a little better. “Thanks for the music, Ozzy it makes our journey in life better.”
